Social Worker Term of Reference
Under the supervision of Jordanian trade union for garment and textile industry, and in coordination with Better Work Jordan (BWJ) the Social Worker is responsible for overseeing the daily operations of the mental health clinic in Al-Dulail industrial zone. He/she will provide administrative support, liaise with patients, and coordinate patient care plans at the clinic.
The following are the duties performed by the Social worker. However, he/she may perform other related duties at an equivalent level required by the supervisor:
- Coordinates the day-to-day operations of clinic/ services by receiving clients and scheduling appointments and conducting regular follow up with clients as requested from the doctor.
- Support drafting outreach plans for the clinic to enhance referrals and to promote mental health awareness
- Provide psychological first aid and case management for urgent cases as needed.
- Accompany the psychiatrist in the assessment and follow up session to support the translation to Bangla and/or Hindi
- Maintain high level of confidentiality of records and shared information.
- Support the development of a biopsychosocial initial care plan with a focus on any immediate safety concerns.
- Enhance a collaborative relationship to maximize the client’s ability to make informed decisions.
- Evaluate client satisfaction and quality of care provided.
- Keep record of visits to the clinic, and draft clinic’s monthly, quarterly, and annual reports.
- Ensure involvement of community leaders, and community groups in creating a community network that increases access to better mental health and social services for garment workers in Jordan
- Managing Referral ins and outs from other organizations through phones and emails.
- Coordinate with local NGOs and CBOs in the Community and promote clinic services to enhance collaborations and referrals.
Requirement:
- Minimum 2 years of relevant experience in clinic management or social work
- University Degree in social work / nursing/ counselling/ mental health or related field
- Good communication skills in English (written and spoken).
- Good communication skills in Bangla and Hindi (Sinhala and/or Arabic is an assist)
- Good levels of understanding of local cultures of the migrant workers
- Experience working with migrant workers from different nationality is a plus
- Good computer skills including Word, Excel, email/internet, PowerPoint
- The applicant should be a resident in Jordan
